Real planets, drawn from spacecraft maps

Every planet in Orbit Slinger is a lit, spinning globe. Earth, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter and the Moon are drawn from real surface maps made from spacecraft data by NASA and the USGS. Earth gets clouds, a glint off the oceans and city lights on its night side.

Tap any planet, or the star, and the camera flies in for a close-up. The card shows fun facts first: how many times it has gone around, how long its year is, and its closest shave. Tap More for the science: real stats from NASA fact sheets and your orbit in real units.

The stars are alive too: boiling surfaces, sunspots and a corona on Sol, a swollen red giant, and a pulsar with sweeping beams.
